As voted by players, ArsMagica2 is back in the mix for WorldWarMinecraft season 10, in addition to guns, turrets and space.
Notably, we've added TechGuns and GuardianChest, with IC2 and BuildCraft has the tech mods.
BloodMagic is still in the mix.
DefenceTech has been replaced with the more stable ICBM-Classic (yes, you can use hypersonic again).
Last but not least, please welcome our special guest for this season: AdventOfAscension!
Since humans took off for their space adventures, nature has taken control of those worlds: you'll be swarmed by monsters on most planets. The latest are purged every 30 days to keep the mobs at bay (in other words: planets are reset every month).
Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is now available in 3 different tiers to produce notably Antimatter and Strange matter particles. This is one of the many changes in WarpDrive, including:
- new textures
- more variations in hull blocks (panels, slabs, tiled), derelicts and loot tables
- multiple planets and star systems with custom sky rendering
- breathing overhaul with HUD, air tanks, air shields, etc.
- smart fall damage based on collision speed
- tuning driver tool
- numerous usability improvements
Needless to say, we'll give a special reward to whoever craft the first Redmatter explosive.
You can protect your base with various means, nothing is disabled/banned per say, including WarpDrive force fields, security terminals, and security stations.
Keep in mind that all protections have counters and will be adjusted as we move through the season.
Advanced ores are mostly found in space while overworld ores are more prominent on 'vanilla' planets. There's no biome specific bonuses, except for emeralds:
Coal is found in veins just below the surface, one leading to the other.
Bauxite (Aluminium) is found in veins around the surface (40-85 / 160-182), mountains are good for you.
Copper is found in narrow veins relatively high (35-55 / 96-128).
Iron is found in narrow veins relatively high (30-50).
Tin is found in narrow veins relatively deep (20-40 / 112-144).
Lead is found in narrow veins relatively deep (8-36 / 176-208).
Silver is found in narrow veins relatively deep (8-24 / 144-176).
Gold is found in narrow veins quite deep (10-30).
AoA ores are mostly unchanged.
Redstone is found in narrow vertical veins starting from the surface (32-64).
Lapis is found in vertical narrow veins from bedrock (0-32).
Emerald is found in large vertical veins quite deep, they come with friends.
Diamond are found in large vertical veins close to bedrock, everywhere. They like it hot.
The usual are here, notably Cobalt, Ardite, etc.
The usual are here.
All ores are found in space, except for AdventOfAscension which respect the original mod logic.
Moon specialization (overworld, nether, ender) is still a thing, as initially introduced in WorldWarMinecraft season 6.
Notably, the following ores are mostly, if not only, found in space: Ferrous/Nickel, Certus quartz, Dark gems...
There's several mods/tweaks to encourage progression in the pack:
- Tinker's tools levels are: Wood < Flint < Copper < Iron < Bronze < Steel/Diamond < Obsidian < Ardite < Cobalt < Manyullyn . You can update your tools with new materials as you progress. Mobs head allows to bypass the progression but prevent further materials changing.
- Clay and gravel have some extra recipes to get started in space. Hint: hardened clay is a frequent surface materials for moons.
- AdventOfAscension has its own skill systems, refer to their wiki here: http://adventofascension.gamepedia.com/Advent_of_Ascension_Wiki
You can move your base with WarpDrive and reach space. They've been adjusted notably with:
- ship speed is adjusted by its mass and environment (planets vs space notably)
- ship side is limited to 200+ blocks per side in space.
- you can move in diagonals and even rotate your ship.
- Quantum bridge, Tesseracts and assimilated aren't supported.
As to encourage ships and group strategy, tpa commands have a 30mn cooldown.
Sadly, due to mods issues, teleportation through dimensions with tp/home/etc is disabled.
Metallurgy has been removed in favor of AdventOfAscension. It's a change of pace, we'll adjust the material bonuses along the season, depending how's the killing rate goes.
GuardianChest keeps your items at no cost, protecting them for a few minutes from other players.
Soulbound and its variations (including AoA skills) is limited to the first 5 items, starting with armor slots, than hotbar. Everyting else will go into the chest.
ArsMagica2 was largely fixed, you'll see new effects and interaction, some components are way more useful than before, go experiment and tell us how it goes!
TechGuns adds lots of new weapons with cool visual effects and interaction. GunCus remains a good option with all the customization it offers.
Lucky blocks have been updated with new tricks and (good) surprises, including an exclusive ship token.
There's 1 hyperspace (200k x 200k) with 4 star systems (20k x 20k) to explore. The center of each system is generally 1 or 2 stars, or even -redacted-. You can't land on such objects, obviously.
Planets exists in various size (1 to 6k) and type (vanilla or AoA based). All vanilla planets are breathable with 'normal' gravity, others are more 'specific': you land at your own risk, so make sure you've good gear before trying to land on a planet!
As always, feel free to propose new mods, we'll carefully consider them.
For now, our priority is to stabilize what we have.
